Hope Squad uses evaluation and peer-reviewed research to understand how the program supports students, schools, and communities. When schools submit deidentified data, they contribute to a broader picture of Hope Squad’s impact across communities. This helps Hope Squad improve resources, strengthen training, support research, and communicate the value of school-based suicide prevention.

Hope Squad uses data to understand how the program is supporting students, strengthening school culture, and improving prevention efforts over time. Measurement helps schools see what is working, identify areas for growth, and contribute to a stronger national understanding of peer-to-peer suicide prevention.

How Student Data Is Protected

Hope Squad collects only the information needed to evaluate and improve the program. Data is deidentified before being used for reporting or research, and Hope Squad follows applicable student data privacy requirements and school data collection policies. Parents and guardians may review survey content as permitted by local school procedures.

How Schools Use Results

Schools can use Hope Squad data to understand student needs, strengthen implementation, support grant reporting, and guide continuous improvement. Evaluation results can also help Advisors and administrators identify opportunities to increase engagement, improve referral pathways, and expand prevention efforts across the school community.
